A wonderful soil, scattered with innumerable small pebbles mixed with fine clayey sands, and the extraordinary assets of our region such as 2500 hours of sunshine and less than 90 days of rain, are excellent conditions for fine quality wines.
Our terroir is part of the Côtes du Roussillon wine region between the Corbières and the Pyrenean mountains, with 5600 hectares of vineyards encompassing 118 communes of the Pyrénées Orientales.

The Roussillon vineyard has a long history going back to the VIII and VII century B.C. Remnants of the culture and commerce of wine dating back to Greek Antiquity, mythology presents us, as usual, with a peculiar yet most instructive version of the story:
Noah took in his Ark the first seeds of the Roussillon vine. The joyous patriarch is said to have taken before the Deluge, a grain of vine from the bones of a bird. While the plant was growing, he placed it in the bones of a lion, then in the bones of a donkey. Since that time it is said, men tasting wine sing like birds; when they drink more, they become strong like lions, but when they drink too much, they bray like donkeys !
After thousands of years of turmoil, of hard work, of bloodshed and muscled revolts, quality slowly replaces quantity in our vine growing region. This courageous policy has finally been rewarded with an AOC label, but our wine growers still continue their pursuit of excellence.
Season after season the wine is developing and getting better, like its region, chiseled by centuries of History, conflicts and the Roussillon sun.
